Halco Foodworks
Brand transformation and growth strategy for a national jerky portfolio
Halco Foodworks engaged 0.5 Labs to reposition its jerky portfolio and build the commercial system required for its next stage of growth.
The situation
Halco had established a differentiated product in a competitive packaged-food category. The next challenge was building the commercial infrastructure and brand presence required to translate product quality into sustained consumer demand and broader market penetration.
That required more than a campaign. The portfolio needed a clearer market position, a stronger consumer identity, a deliberate approach to distribution, and a growth system capable of increasing awareness and sell-through as retail availability expanded.
The mandate
Develop and execute a comprehensive transformation strategy spanning brand positioning, consumer demand, retail distribution, customer acquisition, and long-term commercial growth.
Operating constraints
- Brand positioning and visual direction needed to support the same commercial strategy.
- Distribution growth had to be matched by consumer demand and retail sell-through.
- Creator, community, content, and paid acquisition work needed to reinforce one another.
- Commercial investment needed to follow measurable consumer and retail response.
What 0.5 Labs did
0.5 Labs is working across the commercial organization to redesign how the jerky portfolio is positioned, presented, distributed, and grown. The work begins with target consumers, competitive position, brand architecture, and the reasons the product should win within its category.
The engagement then connects visual and digital identity, product presentation, content, retail expansion, creator partnerships, community activation, customer acquisition, and paid growth as one commercial system. Retail performance, reorder behaviour, and consumer response inform how the strategy is refined and where investment follows demonstrated demand.
What changed
The portfolio now has a common strategic direction across its identity, market position, consumer acquisition, and retail expansion. As the work progresses, sell-through and consumer response provide the feedback loop for refining execution and directing further commercial investment.
