Website modernization and learning platform onboarding

A leading Ontario private school needed its public website, staff publishing process, and learning platforms to feel like parts of one coherent digital environment.

The situation

A leading Ontario private school needed to modernize the digital experience surrounding school life. Families and prospective families relied on the public website for clear information, while students, educators, and administrators depended on a separate set of learning and operational platforms throughout the day.

The public site shaped how families found answers and formed a first impression of the school. Behind it, staff needed an easier way to maintain content and adopt the platforms used for teaching, learning, and administration. Addressing only the website would leave the internal problem unresolved, while introducing new tools without staff support would create another set of disconnected systems.

The mandate

Modernize the public website, make content easier for staff to manage, and help onboard the school to learning platforms and related digital tools.

Operating constraints

  • Staff needed to own routine content changes after launch.
  • Information had to be easy for parents and students to navigate.
  • Staff needed training and a rollout plan for the new learning platforms.
  • Changes could not complicate the school's day-to-day operations.

What 0.5 Labs did

0.5 Labs modernized the public website around clearer navigation, maintainable content, and an administrator-friendly editing experience. The work also supported the school's onboarding to learning platforms and related digital tools used across its academic and administrative environment.

The work covered both initial setup and the routines needed for adoption: how staff would manage information, how students and educators would move onto the platforms, and how later adjustments could be made without opening a new technical project. Website ownership and platform onboarding were treated as parts of the same day-to-day digital environment.

What changed

Staff gained direct control over routine website content and support adopting the school's learning and administration tools. Families could find information more easily, while internal users had a defined path into the platforms used throughout the school day. The public website and internal tools could now be maintained as one digital environment instead of unrelated projects.
